FROM LEONARDO DA VINCI TILL TODAY
A Whole from Hand to Shoulder
Leonardo da Vinci was the first in the world to treat the hand, arm, and shoulder as a single unit. Prof. Dr. Arel Gereli continues this approach.
Every movement of the upper extremity—from the simplest action of daily life to a high-performance sports activity—requires the coordinated functioning of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.
Therefore, a problem originating in the hand may not concern only the hand, nor a problem arising in the shoulder only the shoulder.
Prof. Dr. Arel Gereli has been working on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of orthopedic conditions and injuries affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder for over 20 years.
It addresses a wide range of upper extremity conditions—spanning from childhood to advanced age—including everything from trauma and sports injuries to nerve entrapments, muscle and tendon tears, congenital anomalies, and joint degeneration.
Regaining Movement Begins with Proper Assessment
FROM SHOULDER TO HAND.
Where Does Your Complaint Begin?
Numbness in the hand. Persistent pain in the elbow. Loss of movement in the shoulder.
A problem in the upper extremity may not be limited to the specific point where the pain is felt. The hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder form an interconnected system of muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, and nerves.Hand
Numbness, loss of strength, catching or locking of fingers, swelling, a lump, injury, or pain…
Diagnosis and treatment of hand conditions ranging from nerve entrapment and tendon injuries to fractures and congenital abnormalities.
Wrist
Pain that worsens with movement, difficulty bearing weight, swelling, limited range of motion, or persistent complaints following trauma…
Evaluation and treatment of wrist ligament injuries, fractures, cysts, osteoarthritis, and other joint problems.
Elbow and Arm
Elbow pain, numbness in the hand, loss of movement, sports-related injuries, or weakness…
Diagnosis and treatment of elbow and arm problems involving tendons, ligaments, nerves, bones, and joints.
Shoulder
Pain when lifting your arm, loss of strength, night pain, limited range of motion, or recurrent dislocations…
Diagnosis and treatment of shoulder conditions ranging from muscle tears and dislocations to sports injuries and joint degeneration.
